Roxwel – Talk Of The Town [Free EP]

Download: Roxwel – Talk Of The Town Check out the new FreEP from up and coming Detroit artist Roxwel entitled “Talk of the Town”. After going the old school hand to hand route on the full length version of the project we have decided to release a free e.p. version to the internet. Roxwel has been working his way through the ranks in Detroit for some time releasing three solo mixtapes, a crew mixtape and most recently his album. The goal is now to begin to increase his presence online while continuing to grind in the city. The project features production from Detroit producers Beta, Alpha-Bet, Smerf and Fly Boy Viz and the songs have been very well received thus far by those who have purchased the full length LP. Roxwel prides himself on his honest and relatable approach to music. A full campaign of music videos and other projects are currently in the works for 2012.

Red Bull Music Academy Lecture: Mannie Fresh [Video]

With a record catalog long enough to fill an encyclopedia, Mannie Fresh has basically been the sound of New Orleans hip hop for the past 25 years: producing hits for Nola staples like Lil Wayne, Juvenile, BG, Big Tymers, and bounce queen Cheeky Blakk among others. In addition, his marching drum snare rolls and 808-heavy production trademarks have been picked up on and incorporated in the dirty south canon at large. In this lecture, hosted by Cocaineblunts’ Andrew Noz, he touches on everything from his humble beginnings with local MC, Gregory D, to the Cash Money heydays, and his more recent approach to DJing and production.
