Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: House Shoes – In The Streets [Video]

Posted on October 1, 2012

Bling47 Breaks takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited and animated and directed by Waajeed.

This month has been a long time coming. When I first started this series I had a small hand full of people this type of shit was made for. Detroit’s native, DJ House Shoes or Shoes was on e of those chosen names. Shoes has been there since day one. He is largely responsible for countless heads being aware of Detroit music far and wide. We both tried since early this year to arrange our schedules to make this happen and finally everything synched. In honor of The Last Hip Hop Mohican we bring you a full month of rants, insults and keep it realness. Thanks to MAGS, Ronnie Euro and DPress. Enjoy! - Jeedo

Following a busy 2011, that included sharing stages with young rap superstars J.Cole, Mac Miller and Curren$y, J.Capri teams up with DatPiff.com and brings in the 3rd quarter of 2012 with his mixtape “Plagues. We may last remember hearing from Capri when he shared with us his “BornStars” mixtape (January 2012) that featured Kendrick Lamar (College Girls), Jon Connor and former Little Brother member “Big Pooh”. The follow up to the acclaimed mixtape “BornStars”, “Plagues” features 10 prophetic sounding records that is a mere showcase of J.Capri’s ability with uncanny wittiness, clever metaphors, and slick double time flows. “Plagues” delivers a strong, concise message and definitely does not disappoint. maticulous – The Confluence [Free EP]

Posted on October 1, 2012

With his aptly named follow up project, the Brooklyn-based beatmaker by way of Pittsburgh comes together with an assemblage of his hometown emcees to bring you The Confluence EP. While the direction of the project keeps a traditional hip hop feel, rooted in boom-bap and soul, maticulous keeps it fresh providing a classic vehicle to drive this new wave of old school out of The Steel City."
