kGb – Regular [Audio x Download]

I think I have been watching too many episodes of the new FX show The Americans, because I was half-expecting DJBooth newcomer kGb to be an undercover spy. In reality, however, he is just a Regular dude. Although, the Ct. native might be selling himself short, because your Regular, normal guy would not sound this comfortable rapping, let alone crafting a intriguing beat. kGb preaches his normality with a uniquely laid-back, almost entrancing flow. The artist’s own instrumental transitions from a spacey, futuristic groove into a more frenzied arrangement thanks to a few studio effects and a seemingly unstructured keyboard riff.

Five Steez – War For Peace (The Remix EP) [Free EP]

The homie Five Steez decided to drop this free EP featuring remixes of fan favourites from his debut album, “War for Peace“. Enjoy! “I’m not usually a fan of remixes but I had multiple versions of the song ‘Growing Pains’… so I always knew some sort of remix project for the album could manifest. After the album was out, Zitro reached out, to me, to remix ‘Yard Nigga Rap’ and I liked what he sent back. From there, I put the word out that I was doing a free remix EP. Over a few months, I got dozens of remixes, some from producers already on the album and others from those who never had the chance to make it. I ended up choosing the best remixes that gave the tracks a different but natural feel. New beats, same boom-bap.” – Five Steez War for Peace (The Remix EP) by Five Steez
