The-Dream Talks Making Of & History Behind “Holy Grail” [Video]

In his interview with Zane Lowe back in July, Jay-Z revealed that he had to argue with Kanye for days because Kanye wanted the song ‘Holy Grail’ to appear on Watch The Throne whereas Jay wanted to save it for his next album (Magna Carta Holy Grail).

German website 16bars.de had the chance to interview The-Dream recently and ask him about the history behind the hit song. Dream, who came up with the early version of the song, especially JT’s hook portion explains how they created the song in Paris which was originally meant to be for Jay’s solo album but Kanye liked it so much that he wanted to include it on Watch The Throne. He also expresses his eagerness to start working on Watch The Throne 2 and talks about Kendrick’s ‘Control’ verse.
