When I heard Duque’s ability to create an overall ‘90’s feel’ using new aged sounds, techniques, and mixing I INSTANTLY started to work. Our first song together, ‘Sit Still’, was recorded within a few hours of me receiving the instrumental. I remember writing the first verse while running errands, and writing the second verse while doing push-ups in my house. This is what DOWN TIME is for me. Though I thoroughly “appreciate the times I get to SIT STILL” – there aren’t many. Down Time is far from a literal term in this sense – it represents keeping a focused mind state while dealing with a busy work schedule. A perfect balance of life. Being calm in a state of chaos, being aware in a state of confusion, being focused on your inner peace – this is Down Time. – Don Cerino
