Fashawn Talks Working With Exile On “The Ecology” [Video]

West Coast rapper Fashawn opens up about his sophomore project, “The Ecology,” which has features from Nas and Aloe Blacc. He also explains why he’s working with producer Exile again, and says that he tailors his style a certain way and doesn’t like to stray away from his current sound. The conversation then turns to hip-hop originally being one rapper working with one producer, using Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre as an example, and Fashawn thinks the combination is a great idea. He adds that once you find a producer that really knows your style, it’s a perfect fit, which is how he would describe his relationship with Exile.

Talib Kweli spoke with VladTV about the chance of a sequel emerging to his and Mos Def’s Black Star album being very slim indeed. While many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a new installment for the classic, Talib explained why he isn’t fond of follow-ups to previous work, and that fans should simply listen to the first album again since they loved it so much. He also addressed the lucrative income that he and Mos Def earn from their musical ventures.
