She says that she appreciates the fact that Cole encouraged her to step outside of the box musically, saying that he saw her play guitar for the first time recently and convinced her to try something new on her album, a suggestion she took to heart.

Joell Ortiz chopped it up with VladTV correspondent Jenny Boom Boom and shared his love for Bobby Shmurda, mainly because he feels Shmurda’s video, “Hot N****” showed the real daily life of a kid from Flatbush. When Jenny compares Ortiz’s group Slaughterhouse to Yonkers spitters The Lox, Ortiz can see the similarities, and says he loves running into to those guys because they are genuinely great people that he can talk to about real life situations. Ortiz is then asked who his favorite female rapper was coming up, and he responds with Lauryn Hill, saying she was rhyming just as well as her male counterparts in an era where everyone had skills.
