HUBBS, Skyzoo & DJ Rob Swift Freestyle On Rap Is Outta Control [Video]

Brooklyn, Queens, and Pittsburgh connected on this RIOC episode with DJ Eclipse. Emcees Skyzoo (BK) and HUBBS (PA) spit some very impressive freestyles while DJ Rob Swift of The X-Ecutioners cut the instrumental. HUBBS is preparing to release his mixtape Modern Vintage 3 and Skyzoo has just released his best project to date, Music For My Friends (purchase here) and DJ Rob Swift is promoting his kickstarter campaign for X-Files: Lost & Deleted. This will be Rob’s first album in six years, which includes a collection of rare, remixed, and reinterpreted songs for both young and old hip hop fans to appreciate. Freeway On State Property: “A Reunion Is Definitely Possible” [Video]

While out at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival press event, VladTV caught up with performer Freeway to discuss the show, State Property and the Roc, plus his upcoming project “Free Will.” And according to the Philly emcee, it’s his “best album to date.” Though there is no projected release date for “Free Will,” Freeway says it’s currently in the mixing stage and should drop no later than September. When asked is there a chance him, Beanie Sigel, Young Chris and others will come together again for another project, the former Roc spitter claims “it’s definitely possible.” He then went on to discuss his time on the Roc-A-Fella label and their impact on hip-hop. EarthGang, J.I.D. & OG Maco – TEN TEN [Stream]

Last year Dungeon Family-inspired Atlanta rap collective Spillage Village, whose ranks include EarthGang, J.I.D., Hollywood JB, Jordon Bryant, Marian Mereba, 6lack from LVRN, and OG Maco, shared a wistful, left-leaning and jazz-laced project called Bears Like This. They’ve since clocked even more time noodling int he studio together, and on July 6 they will unleash a sequel to that project, Bears Like This Too (get it?).
