The night has dawned from where most of you are and if you’re a child of the night, Lee Bannon comes with the aptly titled, Never/mind/the/darkness/of/it… EP. From start to finish, Bannon takes us on a moody ride over seven tracks, all instrumental.
In honor of keeping a tradition alive of dropping some free music on my birthday (May 10) as a way of saying “Thank You” to anyone that has supported my music & my musical career, I wanted to share this unreleased 2008 project that I did with my good friend, Frank Nitt of Frank N Dank fame. We only made 8 songs with some skits in between & no one has ever heard this EP until now. This was made on saw “raw sh*t” vibe, not giving a f*ck…we even played this EP for a certain “Beat Conducta” while we would hang out at The Do-Over during the summer of 2009, hence the “What’s up to Otis” line in the Intro song. Our unreleased EP would also be the catalyst & sparked the collabo between Frank & Mr. Otis Jackson Jr (“Medicine Show #9: Nittyville). – Rhett (Read his full write-up over at RIK)

The 'Pay Day EP' is the 3rd project released by Swerve & SYG, the previous one being only a couple months prior with Cold Winters & Warm Whiskey 2. The 'Pay Day EP' was created to wrap up a Swerve & SYG series titled 'Pay Day' which happen to drop on the 1st & the 15th each month. The two have been releasing solo songs alternate of each other twice a month since January of this year. They have added 3 entirely new Swerve & SYG songs as well as remixed previously released Swerve songs like 'No Lifeguard On Duty' & 'Somethings Gotta Give' to include SYG. P-Funk The King returns with this gutter EP for 2013. Tell 'em what they've won!
Gone but never forgotten. It's been 16 years since the Notorious B.I.G. was tragically taken off this earth, yet his timeless music lives on. I've always wondered what Big would sound like rocking with some of today's producers, which was the catalyst behind this project. I've taken 9 of his songs and matched them up with some of the dopest producers out now. Some noteworthy beats featured on The Notorious 9 are from Harry Fraud, No I.D., Large Professor, The Alchemist, Jahlil Beats and a few others. Along for the ride are some respected heavyweights from the industry in Datwon Thomas (Exec. Ed. Vibe Mag) Shaheem Reid (The Round Up, XXL, Shade 45), Jayson Rodriguez (The Content King, host of The BQE), Rob Markman (MTV News) and DJ Goldfinger. They all took some out time to share their thoughts on Big. Hope everyone enjoys this tribute to one of the greatest rappers to grace the mic. RIP to the late, great Frank White. Peace. - DJ Rhude
