Common – The Next Chapter (Still Love H.E.R.) [Audio]

J. Period is back at it again. The DJ/producer will release his forthcoming mixtape “Rage is Back” mixtape on Feb. 12. J. Period and Common join forces for the mixtape’s first single, “The Next Chapter (Still Love H.E.R.),” premiered exclusively here on The Juice. Listen below.

The J. Period produced track continues where Common’s ’94 “Resurrection” classic, “I Used to Love H.E.R ” leaves off. “‘The Next Chapter (Still Love H.E.R.)’ celebrates the latest episode in my lifelong lyrical love-affair with hip hop,” Common says.

“Concrete rose going through hos and flows/ On the paper chase I found out I was chose/ A fetish for clothes, success and blessin’ the hood/ The struggles of an MC progressing through the good,” he raps.

J. Period’s “Rage is Back” celebrates NY Times best-selling author Adam Mansbach’s novel of the same title. “Rage is Back” is available in the iTunes bookstore and is currently one of Amazon‘s “Books of the Month.”
